Vehicle Software Engineer – Infotainment Systems

We are looking for a Vehicle Software Engineer for our team, which builds the next generation of Porsche’s in-vehicle infotainment system from the ground up, providing our customers with an elevated driver experience.
You will be part of a cross-functional product team based in Ludwigsburg, Germany. In your role, you will be the key counterpart for our local but also global product teams when it comes to topics related to the vehicle itself. Together with the engineers and developers, you will be responsible for the integration and testing of software solutions into the vehicle. Furthermore, you will be involved in all aspects of the product development process for new Porsche infotainment services and driving experience, including initiating new product ideas, creating and evaluating concepts, building technical proof of concepts and delivering products to our customers.
The Infotainment Product Team is part of our Portfolio Vehicle. Within this Portfolio, we work in cross-functional product teams across the globe to develop premium customized Porsche services that are integrated seamlessly into the existing digital life of our customers. Global collaboration and synergies based on lean and data-driven processes are key to our success.

WHAT YOUR TASKS ARE
- Collaborate with product teams to ensure the integration and testing of software solutions into the vehicle
- Continuously improve the global testing strategy, including relevant processes
- Support the product teams from our global locations with all topics from setup to operating and maintaining test vehicles and test racks in Germany
- Assist with and run product demos, tech demos, workshops, test drives, etc.
- Develop early prototypes and technical concepts
- Evaluate technical solutions regarding feasibility and sustainability for the Portfolio
- Align with Quality Assurance to ensure continuous high-quality product delivery
WHAT YOU BRING ALONG

some years of professional experience in the field of automotive electronics or software development experience in an automotive context

Hands-on experience with Porsche testing equipment, processes and diagnostic systems is a plus

Knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, including flashing of vehicle software

Experience with extracting and analyzing vehicle logs

Knowledge of smartphone app ecosystems and Android preferred

Automotive communication protocols & vehicle architecture know-how will be an advantage

Advanced communication and organizational skills

Flexibility to work both independently as a pro-active problem solver as well as collaborate in a cross-functional team to deliver on a common goal

Fluent in German & English
