We are looking for a Vehicle Engineer, who will lay the foundation for the successful development of digital products in our “Vehicle Solutions and Data” Portfolio. In this portfolio we work in small cross-functional and local product teams across the globe, close to our target group, to develop and launch market-specific solutions. At the same time, global collaboration and synergies based on lean and data-driven processes are key to our success.
You, as the Vehicle Software Engineer, will be based in Ludwigsburg Germany and build the key counterpart for our global product teams when it comes to topics related to the vehicle itself. Together with the engineers and developers, you will be responsible for the integration and testing of software solutions into the vehicle. Your involvement will span across all aspects of the product development process including early-stage tech evaluation, technical proof of concepts, first-time software integration, vehicle & test bench organization, initial testing and preparation of product demos and workshops.

WHAT YOUR TASKS ARE
- Collaboration with product teams to ensure the integration and testing of software solutions into the vehicle
- Supporting the product teams from our global locations with all topics from setup to operating and maintaining test vehicles and test racks in Germany
- Assist with and run product demos, tech demos, workshops, test drives, etc.
- Tech radar in the automotive domain as a trigger for future product development
- Setting up early prototypes and developing (technical) concepts to support further development and strategic decisions (feasibility studies)
- Evaluating technical solutions regarding feasibility and sustainability for the Portfolio
- Align with QA to ensure continuous high-quality product delivery
- Align regularly with technical teams at Porsche, other VW brands, tech companies and suppliers to ensure integration into existing and upcoming systems.
WHAT YOU BRING ALONG
- 2+ years of professional experience in the field of automotive electronics or software development experience in an automotive context
- Knowledge of vehicle diagnostics including flashing of vehicle software
- Experience with extracting and analyzing vehicle logs
- Flexibility to work both independently as a pro-active problem solver as well as collaborate in a cross-functional team to deliver on a common goal.
- Ability to work independently and think creatively to solve challenges in a mission-oriented organization
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and customer-centric product development
- Advanced communication and organizational skills
- Strong analytic thinking with an innovative approach
- Automotive communication protocols know-how, e.g. CAN/LIN/Flexray/Ethernet architecture will be an advantage
- Knowledge of smartphone app ecosystems and Android preferred
- Hands-on experience with Porsche vehicle architecture and diagnostic systems is a plus
